What areas can be treated?
Frown Lines
Frown lines are the furrows between the eyebrows, generally shaped like the number 11. Frown lines can convey an emotion of tiredness, anger, frustration and generally being cross! These lines can cause self-consciousness and lack of self-confidence in both men and women.
With Botox this group of muscles known as the glabellor can be relaxed and smoothed, this not only softens the frown, but it may also gently lift the brows. It has the added benefit to alleviate tension headaches when treated with the forehead.
Forehead Lines
Forehead lines show as vertical furrows across the forehead and are caused by the frontalis muscle. As the eyebrows are raised, this muscle contracts to cause wrinkles above the brow. Treating this muscle requires skill and precision, which is in abundance at iSkincare, over-treat and in some patients may give a heavy feeling to the forehead.
Crows Feet
Wrinkles around the eyes, also known as crow’s feet or ‘smile lines’, are one of the first signs of ageing, often being the first wrinkles to appear. This is an area where Botox is really effective to gently relax the muscle around the outer eye softening the lines and with skill giving a more wide eyed youthful appearance.
Hyperhidrosis
Excessive sweating, also known as ‘Hyperhidrosis’ can profoundly affect self-consciousness and be a seriously embarrassing condition. When severe sweating interferes with daily activities, it can cause great emotional and psychological upset, especially when it is sweating from the underarms.
Botox works by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands.
Rachael is extremely gentle and ensures this is a painless procedure, results last approximately 6-9 months.
Teeth Grinding
Botox is incredibly effective at treating the unconscious clenching of the teeth, whether awake or asleep. This can lead to physical pain, dental problems. headaches, earaches, and facial pain, as well as chipping of the teeth and increased tooth sensitivity. At iSkincare we use Botox to effectively relieve this condition. Botox is injected into specific muscles which relaxes them to ensure relief from chronic clenching or grinding. This has the added benefit of slimming and softening the contours of the face when the jaw has become widened.
Gummy Smile
Around 15% of people suffer from a gummy smile; in a perfect smile, the lip should sit just above the top of the teeth, but some people have problems with a disproportionate gum tissue to teeth ratio, leaving them self-conscious about their smile. Using Botox the muscle can be gently relaxed
Eyebrow lift
By relaxing the frown muscle and the muscle just beneath the eyebrow it’s possible encourage the eyebrows to gently lift giving a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.
Lip flip
A lip flip makes your lips look fuller or poutier without adding volume to your lip. They generally look more natural than lip filler. The toxin is injected into parts of your upper lip and the results last for about 2-3 months. It only lasts for a short duration because the lip muscle moves often, causing its effect to wear off faster.
Bunny lines
Bunny lines refer to the fine lines that become visible on each side of your nose when you wrinkle it, a little like a bunny! On some patients they can be quite pronounced but easily softened with a small amount of toxin injected on each side of your nose.
Droopy Mouth
A down turned mouth appears with age and gravity and can make the mouth look a little sad. Botox relaxes the DAO muscle which pulls these corners of the mouth down. iSkincare will be able to assess if by treating this muscle the corners of the mouth may appear more relaxed, youthful and happy. This treatment works well with the addition of a little dermal filler to support the corners of the mouth.
